This cheese comes to us through the Adopt-an-Alp program, supporting small Swiss creameries. Steiner's Hohberg is operated by a family of five in the Swiss Alps, producing cheese from sweet summer milk and operating a small restaurant in the summer. Small creameries like these have been hit particularly hard this year by the pandemic, so supporting them is more meaningful than ever!
Steiner's Hohberg Alpkase, made with raw cow's milk, is worked in the manner of a Gruyère, and offers grassy, nutty notes thanks to the wild mountain herbs the cattle graze on. Mellow and wonderfully meltable!
